Congratulations! You´re injured!

It´s that time again.

As you work quite a lot (as in all the time) with (and against) your body as a circus artists, injuries are kind of part of the job as well. Some of them are more severe than others, but they suck, no matter what.
Luckily I didn't have so many injuries yet, and my body seemed to be getting really okay with the amount of physical work I did for my circus school.
Until some weeks ago. Halfway summer holidays I woke up with a 'tight' back. Weird thing that I could still backbend and do contortion (you know, like circus people that look like they're made from rubber? ) but simply picking something up from the floor became impossible. Imagine me holding on to my knees or a table like a 80-year old woman with severe artrosis? Like that.
Good times I'm having here.
And today I arrived at the point where I couldn't even stand up from the crashmat after a trick I did.
That's not so good.
So there it goes, I'm having a break for 2.5 weeks now, no physical activity with my back at all.
But also some more free time to work on my theoretical graduation project (Which is due the 1st of December) and post some more blogposts!

And you know, it sucks, definitely with the knowledge that it's possible I have a beginning hernia as a 22-year old woman, but there are so many good and lovely things in my life, that I know it's going to be fine, and that it's just another step towards knowing my body even better, for the rest of my life!

Next to resting completely and doing a lot of weird core exercises (lift your leg, but without your leg muscles, with a relaxed ass muscle, but tensed... See the logic?) I'm going to try to make my lifestyle as healthy and anti- inflammatory as possible, So behold of the anti inflammatory recipes that are coming!
